Blinded by the awesome-ness of your business? You might be the only one.

Do you know where your ideal clients are hanging out? We do all this target market research and we think we know who our target market is and everything there is to know about them. Most people don't even do that, however, so congrats to you if you've done that, but the next step is to know where they're actually hanging out. Where are they, what are they like, and what are their interests? This kind of research is a little bit hard to do if you don't know where to look, so in today’s episode of BizMomTV, I want to give you a free tool that maybe you've heard of but aren't really utilizing well in your business.

The tool is called the Facebook Audience Insight Tool. It's free to use and there is so much information in there it's a little bit scary! You can find out everything about your ideal customer in just a few minutes using this tool. You do have to have an ads account, but you don't actually have to create ads if you don't want to, although you should be 🙂

First, hit that little down arrow in the top right corner in Facebook, then click on Manage Ads. Once there, on the way left, there is a little menu you can click on and hit All Tools. In that first column you'll see Audience Insights. Click on that and then a pop up will come up and you can click on Everyone On Facebook. On the left hand side there will be a column where you can actually input the age and gender of your customer avatar and you can start inputting the other demographics like location. If you know some interests, you can insert that to further refine your results.

So if you’ve done work on your customer avatar, you can now input all that you’ve learned about your ideal client and input it into this tool. Facebook will then come back with more data on your customer avatar that you can use in your marketing or for your Facebook Ads. You can see what they buy, you can see the Pages that they like, any interests that they have, you can see when they're on Facebook, what type of purchase behavior they have, the sky’s the limit! It's available to you for free right now!

I’m sure you’ve taken an online course and they say you gotta do market research and they give you all these crazy things you've got to do for market research that take forever, right? Now you can do all of your market research right inside of the Facebook Audience Insights tool. This is not a new tool, it's been around for a while, but a lot of people aren’t utilizing it to the best of its ability. So this is a quick way to do market research for your business so that you know your customer avatar like the back of your hand! Go and check it out and start playing with it! Input your customer avatar criteria and see what happens and see what Facebook spits out to you. The insights you can get from this tool are really amazing!

Do leave a comment below and let me know what you think about this tool. Have you used it before? How do you use it and what do you use it for? How has it helped you? I want to know!
