Don't get stuck on creating your online course or program. Get it done in a day!
One of the things that I see (and that I've experienced myself) that holds mompreneurs back from achieving their business success is the daunting task of actually creating your products and services. We put up a website, create our social media accounts and we have all this wonderful stuff going on, but when it actually comes down to creating those courses it can be really overwhelming.
So today I wanna give you a framework - a formula - that will help you put your program outline together in just one day. Now, I don't want you to over-complicate this - don't overthink it! Follow the steps in this framework outlined in today's BizTip video, and you'll have a solid outline for your program - TODAY.
Step one is to figure out who your ideal client is and what their pain island looks like.
What do they wish they could be, do or have? It's that thing that they can't be, do or have right now that's causing them pain, and that's causing them to seek out a solution. DigitalMarketer calls this their "triggering event" - what is the triggering pain that your customer is having that's causing them to seek out a solution right now?
The next step is to determine what their "pleasure island" looks like.
What is their core desire? The only thing you have to do here is flip what they can't be, do or have and frame their core desire as what they CAN be, do or have. That's the start of your program. You have to determine what will take them from where they are now to where they want to be. Having a clear end result to all of your programs will make it much easier to sell them.
Having a clear end result to all of your programs will make it much easier to sell them.
The next step is to simply fill in the gaps.
What are the milestones that would take them from pain island to pleasure island? Map out exactly how to get from one point to the next. Those become your modules or lessons. And when you're creating your course, each lesson should answer a few questions:
- what are you about to talk about?
- why is it important?
- how do they do it?
- how does your solution help them get there?
Strive for done instead of perfect the first time you get your program out there. Once you get it out there, then get feedback and from there, you can refine it and tweak it as you move along.
That's all for today! Let me know what you think about this one day product creation formula in the comments below. If you need help fleshing out your course outline, come on over to our Free Facebook Group, where you can always ask for feedback!
